It is a truth universally acknowledged, that I am the cookie goddess.
Not really, but I like to pretend ~_^
Anyways, my mom has this cookie recipe, the paper says “amish sugar cookies”, when it should say “dern unhealthy sugar cookies”
But…I gotta say…the words “freaking” and “delicious” come to mind when talking about these cookies.
Since I’m a most benevolent goddess (lol lol lol) I decided to share the recipe with everyone.
Note, this is not for the healthy minded.
1 cup butter, at room temperature
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup Vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
4&1/2 cups flour (we think 5 would probably be better, they will puff up more rather than spread out)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
Combine butter, oil and sugars in large mixing bowl, mixing well. Add eggs and vanilla and beat well.
In separate bol combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, mixing well.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.
The bottoms should be kind of golden around the edges, but for the most part they’re going to be white on top and all the way through.
But oh my goodness do they taste delicious! mmmmmmm.mmmmmm. good.
